The original campus was established in 1963 when Sir Frank Thistlethwaite was Vice Chancellor. This village was the home of the growing university for its first few years while the main campus was being developed from the designs of Philip Lumsden.  For a few years, the village was the home for the School of Development Studies from 1973. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I think it must have been nearing the end of term [Summer Term 1983] and we knew DEV was moving to the main campus so I was taking a few photos as a reminder of our time in the Village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
